True.com - meet that special someone!
Posted by tata on Friday Oct 17, 2008 Under UncategorizedAs some of you may not know, I met Husband online. It’s becoming more and more commonplace (not to mention more widely accepted) to meet people - especially that special someone - from the internet. The internet has made an already small world much more accessible. Personally, I think that is a very good thing.
However, it can be dangerous to meet people from the internet in person. I have been very lucky in my experiences. But, to be fair, I’ve also been pretty smart about it.
At True.com, they are diligent about not allowing felons (or, for that matter, married people) to become a part of their community. This is the first - and most profound - thing I noticed about True.com. Their claim to being the only online dating service that screens for criminals and “marrieds” and are endorsed by Psychology Today is pretty impressive!
Also available at True.com is coaching service, personal ad advice, videochat, and scientific compatibility test that pinpoints 99 factors that define known successful relationships. Browsing ads, profiles and photos, swapping emails or chatting it up in public and private rooms are some of the available ways to make contact with prospective dates before meeting them in person. Speaking of which, there are articles and pointers to help you make that transition and stay as safe as possible. Sign-up is free, too. If you still haven’t met Mr. or Miss Right? Why not search for free right now?!

Good for you, I tried both Match.com and eharmony. I am met a few guys and dated them, one was serious. It was a different medium for me. My current BF, I met the old-fashioned way-through his mother:)

Hi - I can vouch for Match.com. I met my boyfriend there - we’ve been together 2 1/2 yrs. I thought it was a very good service - you set up a Match acct and all mail goes through that acct to your personal email. So the people never have to know your name or real email. The search engines are good - you can search by codeword or other options. There are no chatrooms (or at least not then) but messages moved pretty quickly. I didn’t try eharmony, but I have had friends who were “unmatchable” on that site, and we are talking about educated, employed, single, interesting people, not felons or married. My SO was the second person I actually went out with on Match, so it worked pretty quickly for me!

@Jeremy Day: No, I have written a review of those sites, but it’s not a bad idea. However, based on the background check that True.com performs, I can tell you from a woman’s perspective that it is much more appealing than using a comparable site that doesn’t perform the background check.

Hi,
I have been thinking about using match or eharmony. Do you think true is the best one. I think your readers might enjoy an overview of all of them in one post. Not sure if you have done that already or not?
Cheers,
Jeremy
