Think Before You Pink

Posted by tata on Wednesday Oct 1, 2008 Under Uncategorized

TBYPOctober is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In honor of that, a lot of companies put a pretty pink ribbon on their products and donate a portion of those proceeds to researching a cure.

Crooked Rob, Joy and I @ Making Strides for Breast Cancer 2005Think Before you Pink is a campaign that encourages consumers to think critically about their pink purchases and calls companies to be more accountable for their role in fundraising for breast cancer.

This year’s focus is on Yoplait and their pink lids. For as long as I can remember, Yoplait has campaigned their pink lid program (and I have even participated!) but it has come to light that their yogurt contains rGBH, a synthetic hormone injected into cows to increase their milk production that is linked to health concerns and increase risk of breast cancer.

Since Breast Cancer Awareness is a cause close to my heart, it is my sincere hope that everyone Thinks Before They Pink. Take action by sending an email to Yoplait.
