Husband is so practical and keeps many flashlights around, so it was no biggie, really. I was a bit nervous about the children, though, as both sleep just beneath windows. Husband rolled the crib away from the window in our room, but I left the girl to sleep. I was sleepless until well after the tornado sirens quieted.
Husband woke up early, around 7am. He later told me the power must’ve came back on around 5-5:30am. He reset all our clocks and got Joy up for school. The boy and I slept in.
Husband has gotten the boy to sleep in his crib the last two night (his nights off from work) and boy has slept through the entire night. He woke up hungry this morning about 7:30am and I brought him into bed with me, where he happily nursed while we both dozed until 9am.
When I woke up, I called the Post Office about the recent mail troubles I’ve been having. The gentleman on the line was awesome. It’s about time! The last time I called back in October, the person I spoke with was a complete bitch. So, that was sorted out, finally.
I’ve been infected with the domestic bug today. I’ve washed the dishes, printed out my menu plan and posted it on the fridge, Husband baked meatballs and I started the sauce and boiled the noodles (we made enough for two meals, one for dinner tonight, one for the freezer). I even remembered to take chicken out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow night! I’ll prolly start it tonight. I vacuumed and scrubbed the bathroom, Husband started a load of laundry and I finished it. I even plan on finishing up some paperwork that I’ve been putting off for over a week now! I’m taking small breaks to hop online. Right now, I’m having a late lunch.
