Yesterday, I finally washed the massive heap of dishes that have piled in the sink since BHF and family left. I took a shower and the boy woke up Husband. Husband’s sick, the poor dear. I pumped him full of Zicam, Ibuprofen and Mucinex and told him he should stay home from work. He didn’t listen.

P came over with her girls. The girls played while she and I gabbed and we ate Papa Murphy’s. It’s nice to have an adult to hang with and have grown-up conversations! She left her girls here for a half hour to take her husband some dinner at work. She came back and picked up the girls (mine, too) for a sleepover and church in the morning.

The boy took an hour long nap yesterday (while I washed dishes and showered) and only a 20 minute nap in the afternoon, so I assumed it would be an easy bedtime. WRONG! We went in there around 10pm. I put him in his crib and patted his tummy and he fell to sleep after about 30 minutes. Only to wake, screaming ten minutes later. Back again. He fell to sleep again quickly, but woke up again 20 minutes later, again screaming. I dosed him with some Ibuprofen and laid him in bed with me, nursing. At 1am, he finally fell to sleep.

Of course, the stress from the screaming left me wired and I was up until Husband came home, who felt and looked terrible. He downed some more meds and crashed hard. I laid in bed, awake, until 4:30am or later.

This morning, the boy woke me at 9am! How could he be ready to be awake already?! Insanity, I tell ya. So we got up, I fed him a bowl of oatmeal and some apricots and some Kix. He took a short nap, woke up and ate some more (beef and garden veggies and some cheddar puffs). We played a bit and P brought the girl home. Husband woke up, still feeling awful and burning a fever. I brought him water, drugs and the telephone to call in sick. Then I packed up the kids and went to Wal*Mart to get him some OJ, Gatorade, tissues, etc. Bought the boy a new toy, too.

Came home and started feeling pretty icky myself. My throat is sore. Wahhhhhh! I’m really tired, too and feeling rather grumpy. Baby took another too-short nap and just had ham, squash, yogurt and Cheerios. He’s a bottomless pit, I say.

Gonna try and get some decent sleep tonight. Hole up in bed with Husband and watch some movies or something.

Insane day. Joy had two appointments at the new office and it was so hectic trying to get her there on time. Like a dumbass, I didn’t fill the paperwork out that they sent me until today. Hell, I didn’t even open the envelope until this morning around 10:30am. To further my stresses, the cover page stated that the deductible would be due today in full. $250! I called to double-check and turns out only $150 is owed today. Okay, that we can handle. I got started on the paperwork, made Husband some coffee and the baby took the opportunity to take a monster-size crap. Oy.

So, I changed the boy, woke up Husband and finished the paperwork. Gave the boy a boobie to tide him over while I was to be away. Rush out to get the girl from school. Rush from the school to the new office. I was under the impression that the office was a free-standing building. The address did not come with a suite number, so I was frantic trying to find this place. Finally, I parked near where I thought it to be and luckily it was very nearby - inside one of the hospitals. We were ten minutes early! Grabbed the girl a bite to eat on the way in, since she missed lunch at school.

She met with the same doctor she’s been seeing. We both really like her very much. She gave the girl a new ’script, which will be extremely helpful when we are nearing our insurance plan’s cap for the visits allowed per year. Afterwards, she met with the new therapist. I did most of the talking to fill her in on the events that led up to the girl’s diagnosis of OCD. Next time, the girl will meet with the therapist without me.

Afterwards, the girl wanted to return to school for the ice cream party. They are doing practice tests for the FCATs and as a reward for effort, the teacher has coordinated this party. Unfortunately, time was not our friend. I offered the girl a consolation prize of ice cream at home - Ben & Jerry’s Oatmeal Cookie Chunk. Good stuff. It pacified her.

The boy was pretty cooperative today. He ate so much again today, I can only imagine what it will cost us to feed him when he is a teenager! He went down easily for his naps and without much fuss at bedtime, too.

I miss Husband, though. The cell phone (from which he calls me on his lunchbreaks) has been acting goofy, so we haven’t been able to talk longer than for him to tell me how late he expects to be and to exchange “I love you”s. He’s gotten a lot of overtime lately, too, which is nice for paying bills and buying stuff, but sucks ’cause I miss him.

We need to finish our taxes. I want a new couch. I miss sitting on the couch watching movies together.

My sweet babe is 11 months old today! I can’t believe a year has almost passed since this little guy joined us in this crazy world. It’s been a wonderful 11 months. The boy played peek-a-boo with Husband and I this afternoon. It’s terribly cute the way he covers his eyes with the backs of his hands. I’ll hafta try to get video of that soon.

I still felt pretty icky most of today. There was a minor disaster this morning when the toilet overflowed. Thank goodness it was clean water or else I would’ve been in tears again. My sweet husband came in and took over the task of cleaning up. I made coffee. He also cooked dinner and washed dishes again. I took out the garbage. I read a bit more. Otherwise, I was pretty worthless.

I’m very tired this evening. I think I’ll go to bed early. The baby is still awake. I’ll prolly take him into the bed with me for an extended nursing session and turn on the boob tube. Heh. Pun not intended. Or I might get him into the crib and do some more reading. The girl has school tomorrow and morning comes early.

::yawn::

G’night.
