Ally.

Posted by tata on Monday Oct 11, 2010 Under Meditations & Inspirations

Today is National Coming Out Day. My name is tata and I’m a straight ally for the Human Rights Campaign and the LGBT community.

I cannot begin to know what it feels like to be forbidden from openly sharing my love for fear of losing my family, my job, my rights and possibly my life. While my heart aches for those who are still afraid, those who have bravely come out give me hope in their strength. I stand beside you all. It gets better.

Please check the links in my post, especially the channel on youtube called “Itgetsbetterproject.” Know that there are people out there who love you regardless, strangers and friends alike fighting for your rights to be who you are without shame or apologies. I love you!

Its a frightening feeling… to risk all, to reveal who you truely are. Its just as frightening to believe that it can and will get better. Beacsue through the bad times and the worse times.. what if it doesnt?
What if you risk all for a chance to love who you were meant to love and it never gets better?
